CLEANER MILEAGE

Cleaner Mileage Tracker

Track driving between cleaning jobs without manual logging. Connect your calendar and turn cleaning appointments into HMRC-ready mileage records.

The mileage problem for cleaners

Cleaners — whether domestic, commercial or specialist — drive between multiple properties every day. Each journey between cleaning jobs is claimable business mileage, but the trips are often short and easy to forget.

A cleaner visiting 4–6 properties a day might accumulate 20–40 miles of business driving. Over a year, that is £2,200–£4,400 in mileage claims that many cleaners simply miss.

Traditional mileage trackers require you to start and stop a GPS app before and after every job. When you are carrying cleaning supplies and rushing between clients, that does not happen reliably.

How calendar appointments create your mileage records

If you use Google Calendar or Outlook to schedule your cleaning jobs, your calendar already has the client name, time and location for every visit. That is everything needed to create a mileage record.

MileageCalendar reads those appointments, calculates the driving distances between consecutive cleaning jobs, and creates mileage records you can review and confirm.

No need to remember a GPS tracker. No need to reconstruct trips from memory at the end of the month. Your calendar does the work.

A typical cleaner day

Cleaners often visit multiple properties in a single day. The driving between jobs is business mileage — but logging every short trip between cleans is easily forgotten.

UK mileage record considerations

HMRC allows cleaners to claim mileage between client properties at 55p per mile (first 10,000 miles in 2026/27, 25p per mile above).

For mobile cleaners without a fixed base, the journey from home to your first client and from your last client home is generally claimable.

If you work for a cleaning company that reimburses mileage, you cannot also claim it on your Self Assessment — you would be double-claiming.

Keep records of the date, start, end, miles and purpose for each journey. MileageCalendar records all of this automatically from your calendar.

Rates shown are for tax year 2026/27. Always check current HMRC guidance for your situation.
